APPLICATION INFORMATION
If you wish to apply for a place for your child/ren, please read the information on this page.
Whilst Castle Rock School is an Independent State Funded academy, we have commissioned Leicestershire County Council to manage and administer the application and appeals process.
We welcome applications from students across the city and county, indeed we have a significant number of applications from outside the catchment area.
ADMISSION PROCESS
- Parents can apply for a place by using the On-line Admissions system (paper forms on request) on the Leicestershire County Council website

email: [email protected]. - Use the LCC’s ‘find a school’ search to see catchment maps for schools and a list of schools within your local area. The ‘Your Guide to Education’ section has all the information required for entry to schools for September.
- Closing date for Y7 applications for September 2024 intake is 31st October 2024.
- Results for the 2024/25 transfers will be made available on 1st March 2024. To get your results sign onto ‘Online Admissions’ using your user name and password with which you made the application, then click on the results link.
If your child has been refused a place in the school you have applied to, you have the right to appeal against this decision. Appeals to decisions regarding school places are managed by Leicestershire Local Education Authority. Details, including the timetable for appeals, can be found here.
The Castle Rock School will only accept students for the appropriate academic year based on their chronological age unless there is clear picture of need for a different year based on evidence e.g. EHCP/statement of SEN
MID TERM (IN YEAR) ADMISSIONS
All mid-term (in year) admissions for students in years 7-11 must go through the local authority at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools-colleges-and-academies/school-admissions/apply-to-move-school
2024/25 ADMISSIONS
It was proposed and seconded that for the academic year 2024-25 the Yr. 8, Yr. 9, Yr. 10 and Yr. 11 groups have an operational capacity number set at 210, 240, 220 and 240 respectively, for Yr. 7 the operational capacity is to be set at 220 .
Upon being put to the vote all governors supported the motion and the motion was carried.
